« Once upon a trap » est un album-compilation collaboratif gratuit et accessible à tous produit par le e-label Vaticaen Production. Il réunit 19 musiciens, dubmakers, chanteurs et chanteuse qui ont participé à l'élaboration de ce projet singulier mis en oeuvre grâce à des échanges de fichiers sur internet. Certains ont posé leurs voix sur l'instrumental que j'avais composé au départ et d'autres ont remixé le multipiste que j'avais mis en ligne. J'ai retravaillé tout ça dans ma cave pendant environ 1 an et demi pour proposer des versions différentes adaptées à toutes les voix que j'ai reçu. Les remixes viennent du monde entier (Montréal, Saint-Pétersbourg, Palerme, Zagreb, Oslo, Wiesbaden

) et proposent tous une vision différente, parfois organique comme Translippers, ethnique comme Jah Billah et Bissoman, ou dub digital pour Lofi Menta.

Il faut garder en tête que cette réalisation est auto-produite et réalisée dans un home-studio avec des moyens qui ne sont pas ceux de grosses compagnies. Elle est cependant élaborée avec le plus grand sérieux et le maximum d'énergie. « Once upon a trap » résulte d'une dynamique collective et participative qui a humblement pour but de redéfinir les standards d'écoute proposés par les médias classiques. L'un des objectifs du Vaticaen a toujours été de proposer des contenus qui offrent un canal alternatif en opposition au formatage généralisé. En faisant découvrir des anonymes ou des artistes parfois reconnus le Vaticaen met en avant les capacités de collaboration artistique internationale de plusieurs musiciens en opposition au manque de solidarité et d'humanité souvent trop présent autour de nous.

Ce projet n'est qu'un grain de sable dans un désert infini mais il est là, il est gratuit, il est pour vous.

“Once upon a trap” is a free and accessible collaborative compilation-album produced by the e-label Vaticaen Production. It brings together 19 musicians, dubmakers, singers who participated in the development of this unique project implemented through file exchanges on the internet. Some rec their voices on the instrumental that I had originally composed and others remixed the multitrack that I had posted online. I reworked all of this in my basement for about a year and a half to come up with different versions adapted to all the voices I received. However, it is developed with the greatest seriousness and maximum energy. “Once upon a trap” results from a collective and participatory dynamic which humbly aims to redefine the listening standards offered by classic media. One of Vaticaen's goals has always been to offer content that offers an alternative channel in opposition to generalized formatting. By discovering anonymous or sometimes recognized artists, Vaticaen highlights the capacities for international artistic collaboration of several musicians in opposition to the lack of solidarity and humanity often too present around us.

This project is only a grain of sand in an infinite desert but it is there, it is free, it is for you.
